Kingstown Community College ranks #1 in the country according to a new survey, and it has the most diverse student body of any community college in the region.
Kingstown’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) has the lowest rate of non-white students, according to the study.
CLAS has students from every race and ethnicity, including a majority of students who are Asian, Latino, Black, Asian, and Native American.
The university is located in the northeast corner of Kingstown, about 50 miles northeast of Philadelphia.
According to a 2016 study, Kingstown has the highest median household income of any city in the state, at $48,400.
Its unemployment rate is 7.7 percent, and its poverty rate is 11.5 percent.
In addition to the high unemployment rate, King’s Community College ranked last among the 50 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S., according to WalletHub.
While Kingstown’s students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, the college’s student body is made up of students from all races and ethnicities, including students who speak multiple languages.
Kingstown is also the only community college that offers the full range of bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Students from the city of Kingsborough are able to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in health, education, health management, and population health, as well as a Master of Arts in Community and Public Health, according a news release.
Kingstown Community Colleges website lists more than 1,600 degrees and certificates for students.
